As the Château de Beaugency is a historic monument, it unfortunately has limited accessibility for people with reduced mobility. The main access path is cobbled and uneven, and there is no elevator inside. Access to the upper floors is only possible via stairs, making them inaccessible to visitors in wheelchairs.
However, visitors in wheelchairs can access the Immersive Room, located on the ground floor, which offers a powerful visual experience.
On the other hand, access is very limited for visually impaired visitors, as the artworks mainly rely on light effects and visual projections.
Deaf visitors can enjoy the visual installations but will not fully benefit from the sound immersion.
Please note: Assistance dogs are welcome in the château courtyard and are allowed in the exhibition areas.
Soundscapes vary depending on the rooms and the artworks on display. Some installations are accompanied by immersive sounds, sometimes including sudden noises, deep bass or loud music. This may surprise people who are hypersensitive to sound or who wear hearing aids.
If you are sensitive to noise, we recommend bringing your own hearing protection (headphones, earplugs). Those using a hearing aid may choose to adjust it or temporarily remove it in certain areas if the sound environment becomes uncomfortable.
Some of the artworks presented at the Château de Beaugency use intense light effects, including rapid flickering, flashes, or sudden transitions from darkness to bright light. These effects may pose a high risk for individuals with photosensitive epilepsy.
It is not possible to completely avoid these lighting effects during the visit, as some areas are exposed to them. However, some rooms offer a softer atmosphere, with stable and continuous lighting.
For your safety, the visit is not recommended without accompaniment if you are prone to seizures triggered by visual stimuli.
The Château de Beaugency, labeled Accueil Vélo, provides an outdoor area equipped with racks, mainly intended for parking bicycles. Cyclists can also access, if needed, a pump and a few basic repair tools, as well as a charging point for electric bikes (available on request from the cultural mediator in the château courtyard).
For strollers, scooters, or other bulky items, access to the exhibition is not permitted for safety and artwork preservation reasons. We invite you to contact the cultural mediator present in the château courtyard, who will indicate a suitable storage space depending on current availability.
These services have been designed to best accommodate visitors using soft mobility or coming with family, while respecting the historical layout of the site.
Pets are not allowed inside the exhibition areas of the Château de Beaugency, in order to preserve the artworks and ensure everyone’s safety.
However, leashed animals are welcome in the château courtyard.
It is essential to not leave your animal unattended during your visit.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the château courtyard and may also access the exhibition spaces, provided that technical and safety conditions related to the digital artworks are respected.
There is no pet care or boarding service available on-site.
We therefore recommend that you plan your visit without your pet.
